♥ i am not eccentric. it's just that i am more alive than most people.

yves saint laurent once said, "fashion fades, style is eternal,"
and after reading this ny times article featuring a luncheon of the most
fashionable fashion icons, (whose wardrobes are still as wacky as ever),
i have to say that i wholeheartedly agree.

a sense of style and a discerning taste is something that you are born with.
it cannot be replicated or bought or even taught. these women have style
by the mile and on top of that loads of confidence to wear what they want,
wherever they want, whenever they want.

so go ahead, wear that bold lipstick color, even if it clashes with your outfit.
pile too many bracelets onto your wrist, or too many rings onto one hand,
wear patterns that shouldn't go together but do. defy convention,
break rules. believe in yourself, believe you look good,
and others will too.

tonight, i will be stopping by neiman marcus in boston
to say hello to ms. iris apfel in person (she will be there from 6 to 9pm!)
and to hopefully tell her how much of an inspiration she is to all the
fashionistas who dress to express themselves.

(rsvp here and maybe i'll see you there ;)!
